The story
How Flamingo Residence got its name
A holiday should be something wonderful: making memories and finding peace with your partner or family. So we looked for a lovely complex close to the coast, where you can head into the bustle whenever you like and still have peace and quiet at your own place. It had to meet a few conditions: a good climate, no more than thirty minutes from an airport, not too busy, and plenty to do in the area.
At a holiday home fair we got to know Guardamar del Segura, and we travelled there to feel whether this was our place. The project had just started and the foundations had just been dug. We were curious about the view of one of the two salt lakes. Opposite the project, work was well under way on another complex that was already being finished. We plucked up our courage and climbed up there to take a look at the view.
The view over the lake was lovely, and we saw flamingos straight away. Back in the Netherlands it turned out that the penthouse whose roof terrace we had stood on was still for sale. That is how this adventure began, and how the name was born.

El Raso, between the salt lake and the coast
El Raso is a modern residential area in the hinterland of Guardamar del Segura, 4 kilometres from the coast. It borders the Laguna de La Mata natural park, known for its pink salt lake and its many birds, flamingos among them. Every Sunday there is a market in El Raso.

How many guests is the penthouse for?
Up to 4 guests. There are two bedrooms: one with a queen-size bed and one with two single beds.
What time can I arrive?
You can arrive between 10:00 and 20:00.
How far is the beach?
El Raso is 4 kilometres from the coast. The beaches of Guardamar, such as Playa del Moncayo and Playa Centro, are a few minutes away by car.
How do I get there?
Alicante-Elche airport is about 30 minutes away by car. The AP-7 and the N-332 take you quickly to Alicante, Elche and Torrevieja.
Is there air conditioning and a lift?
Yes. The penthouse has air conditioning and heating, and you reach it by lift.
Is smoking allowed?
No, smoking is not allowed in Flamingo Residence.
